Do you already have a book manuscript that you need to have proofread and/or edited?
Here’s what our Proofreading and/or Editing Service offers you;
First, a definition of Proofreading and Editing since it is really easy to confuse the two.
- Proofreading Definition: Manuscript Proofreading means examining your text carefully to find and correct typographical errors and mistakes in grammar, style, word usage and spelling.
- Editing Definition: Manuscript Editing is preparing written material for publication by critiquing, correcting, condensing, or otherwise modifying plot design, flow from chapter to chapter, continuity, character development, point of view or voice (first person, third person, etc). This provides an author with the information needed to make the necessary changes before the book is published.
Here’s how we perform these services;
- For proofreading, we have several software applications that check your manuscript thoroughly for any of the items mentioned above in the Proofreading Definition. We then provide you with a report of any issues found in the manuscript. This report is in Microsoft Word format and shows where an issue was found and the recommended change. We do not make the changes until you approve all or some of them.
- For Editing, we carefully read your manuscript and make notes about the items mentioned above in the Editing Definition. We then write up a report for your use in making any of these changes, if you agree. We will never make changes to your manuscript until you approve and we both agree on the changes to be made.
